Who we are

Amy Rouse

Owner / Director

My passion for supporting individuals with disabilities has shaped every stage of my career. I began working as a social worker, where I supported children and families facing a variety of challenges, including many children with developmental and special needs. Those early experiences inspired me to pursue a career in education, where I could help individuals build the skills and confidence needed to reach their full potential.

Over the next two decades, I served as a certified special education teacher and later as a certified Educational Diagnostician, working with students across a wide range of abilities. Throughout my career, I have partnered with families, educators, and community agencies to develop individualized supports that promote learning, independence, and long-term success.

Today, as an Employment Services Specialist, I partner with adolescents and adults with disabilities to identify their strengths, prepare for meaningful employment, increase independence, and achieve their personal goals. My work includes providing career planning, autism supports, vocational training, job placement, supported employment, and individualized services designed to help each person reach their fullest potential.

I believe employment is about more than earning a paycheck. Meaningful work builds confidence, creates opportunities for connection, and opens the door to greater independence and community participation. My goal is to provide person-centered services that empower individuals to achieve their goals while recognizing and celebrating their unique strengths.

I began my professional career outside of education before discovering my passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. I spent 15 years in education, beginning in special education, where I worked with students across a wide range of abilities—from children with severe and profound disabilities requiring extensive support to those who needed only occasional guidance to thrive.

Following my work in special education, I became a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), providing evidence-based dyslexia intervention while continuing to support students and families with diverse learning needs. Throughout my career, I have also worked with both children and adults with autism in educational, community, and vocational settings, helping individuals strengthen communication, social skills, executive functioning, self-advocacy, independence, and employment readiness.

I believe meaningful growth happens when people feel understood, valued, and empowered. I am passionate about building trusting relationships with the individuals and families I serve, recognizing each person's unique strengths, and providing individualized support that helps clients build confidence, increase independence, and achieve their personal goals.

I enjoy helping individuals recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve goals they once believed were out of reach. It is a privilege to celebrate each milestone alongside the individuals and families I serve.
